Our website, compassionforpatients.com, is the online presence of the Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance, Inc. The website is designed to provide information related to our organization, the Massachusetts medical marijuana program managed by the Cannabis Control Commission, legislative actions, regulatory updates, and events hosted by the MPAA. We also have a comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page that provides answers to many common questions related to the medical use of marijuana program in Massachusetts. Our website is intended to be a resource for patients, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about medical cannabis in Massachusetts.

2. User Conduct

We expect our users to use our website in a responsible and respectful manner. Users are not allowed to copy, scrape, or repurpose any information, including images and logos, from our website without our express permission. All content on our website, including our Cannabis Care Connect™ service, logos, and photos, is protected under our intellectual property rights. We also expect our content and the work we have done to compile it to be respected and not copied by our users. Any user found to have violated our user conduct policy may face legal action.

MPAA reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time, and without notice. Any changes to these Terms of Use will be posted on this website, and your continued use of this website after any such changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate any user’s access to our website at any time, with or without cause and without notice, in our sole discretion. Without limiting the foregoing, we may immediately terminate your access to the website if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these terms of use or any applicable law, rule, or regulation. You agree that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to our website. Users who are found to have violated our user conduct policy could face possible legal action. All legal actions taken against users who violate our conduct policies will take place in the County of Suffolk, in Boston, Massachusetts. The first legal action will always be through arbitration against the user who violated the user conduct policy.

8. MPAA Mailing List

We maintain a mailing list through MailChimp that contains the email addresses of individuals who have opted to receive updates and information from MPAA. By subscribing to our mailing list, you agree to receive periodic emails from us. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our emails.
 
Please note that our mailing list is subject to the terms of use and privacy policy of MailChimp. For more information about how MailChimp collects, uses, and protects your information, please refer to their website.
 
We also maintain a spreadsheet of our mailing list subscribers, which is only viewable by the Executives at MPAA. The spreadsheet contains the first and last names, email addresses, and city/town of our subscribers, as well as whether they have opted into our privacy policy. We use this information to better understand our audience and to tailor our communications and outreach efforts.
 
8.1 Supporter Data Storage:  We take the privacy and security of our supporters’ personal information very seriously. When you sign up for our mailing list through MailChimp, we collect and store your first name, last name, email address, phone number, and city/town. This information is stored in a secure spreadsheet that is only accessible to the Executive Board of MPAA. No third parties will ever have access to this secure spreadsheet and we will never sell your information to a third party. We only collect and store the information that is necessary to keep you informed about our organization and events. If you opt-in to receive updates from us, we may also send you occasional emails about important news or events related to our mission. We do not share your information with any third parties unless we are required to do so by law. If you have any questions or concerns about how we collect or store your information, please contact us.
 
8.2 Email Communication:  MPAA utilizes ProtonMail to send encrypted and secure emails to our supporters who communicate with us via email. We understand the importance of protecting your personal information and take all necessary measures to ensure that our email communications are as secure as possible.
 
We may retain records of email communications with our supporters, but we will delete all email communications with supporters as well as any form submissions in email every 90 days to ensure that your personal information is not retained longer than necessary. If you wish to have your personal information removed from our email records, please contact us at director@compassionforpatients.com.
 
Please note that email communications with MPAA are not considered secure and confidential, and we cannot guarantee that your email will remain private. We encourage you to avoid including any sensitive personal information in your email communications with us.
